Bucaramanga
 
It is a city of Colombia, capital of the department of Santander. Its economy is based on the industry because it is purely commercial, although there are other economic lines that have much importance as the footwear industry which has an important market at national and international levels and clothing.
All kinds of restaurant specializing in all types of cuisine can be found in Bucaramanga. The santandereano mute, the pepitoria, oreada meat, corn griddle-cake and the santandereano tamal can be highlighted within the typical dishes of the cuisine. Culonas ants are perhaps the most typical of santandereano food. The sweets of celery, lemon, citron, rice, milk sweet and pineapple (made mostly in neighboring Floridablanca), wafers and the veleño sandwich.
Bucaramanga has a very good hotel infrastructure composed in part by some of the best chain of hotels in the country. Also important shopping centers which are in la Florida, Megamall and La Quinta.
It should be noted that the city of Bucaramanga was chosen as one of the seven tourist destinations of national  pride through a process of voting that was convened by an important organization called “Colombia is passion” and Bavaria Brewery. Within the main tourist sites you can visit are the viewpoints of Morrorico and Palonegro, and surrounding towns of Girón, Socorro, Barichara, San Gil, Chicamocha Natural Park, etc.
